Your bridesmaids...

Future sister-in-laws, college friends, cousins... your bridesmaids are your wedding day posse. You'll never forget them and they will never forget how special you made them feel, including them in your special day. Whether you choose 1 or 21, choose bridesmaids who encourage you, lift you up and love you for who you are.

Bokeh Photography

Bokeh refers to "out-of-focus points of light". I love this affect on certain images because it draws your eye to a particular part of the image (in this case it would be the cake topper), while leaving the rest of the image with a whimsical feel. The moment I walked into Sheryl and Rusty's reception and saw all these fantastic lights they has strung across the ceiling, I knew I wanted to capture some bokeh images. Hope you enjoy this one.

Vendor Spotlight: Bridle Creek

We Tulsa wedding photographers are blessed with many great venues for our clients to choose to tie-the-knot at. We have too many favorites to count!  One of them is The Lodge at Bridle Creek.  This place not only has a view that has to be seen to be believed but it also has an elegantly rustic lodge.  Most couples we have photographed there will either have their wedding and reception inside the lodge or they will have their wedding outside, overlooking that view I was telling you about and then have their reception inside the lodge. Whichever way you go, you can't go wrong with The Lodge at Bridle Creek. Here are some photos from Kaycee and Ryan's wedding we photographed there recently. Such a wonderful couple; so very happy for them!! Enjoy the view.

Feeling grateful...

I am a people pleaser. It comes natural and I don't even think about it, its just who I am. So when a bride takes the time to personally thank me for my work; whether it be via a 5 star review, an email, text or phone call or, in this case, sending a thank you card, it overwhelms me with gratitude beyond words. So naturally I am speechless and humbled Sheryl for the precious thank you card. To say I was honored to photograph your wedding, is an understatement. I will always keep your card as a reminder of your thoughtfulness!  Thank YOU!

Editing

We offer several levels of editing to match the look and feel you wish your finished images to have.

There is a ridiculous amount of work that goes into our Basic, Enhanced and Enhanced + Retouching post production work. But, to make it easy to understand, the following is a very simplified explanation of our complex processes...

Basic - a single run through our automated editing software to balance the color and tone as needed.

Enhanced Editing - includes Basic plus artistic actions to give your images that extra boost.

Enhanced Editing + Retouching - includes Basic and Enhanced plus a run through our skin cleansing software to minimize fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, etc.

... of course there is also straightening, lightening, darkening, cloning, masking, cropping, transforming, flattening, contrasting, blah blah blah... but hopefully these scaled down descriptions will give you a sense of the editing and post production we offer in all of our packages.

How to cut a Wedding Cake?

Every. single. wedding. It happens... the DJ announces its time to cut the cake. The bride and groom excitedly head to the cake table then... they look at me with blank stares and mouth the words "what do we do"?

So here it is, in its simplest form. How I instruct couples to cut their wedding cake. (Disclaimer: I am a Professional Wedding Photographer, not a Professional Wedding Cake Cutting Guru.  So below is what has worked for me, photographing couples while they cut their wedding cake so that I can get the best photos possible for them).

{What you will need: Knife, Spatula, small Plate, Napkins}

1. Bride and groom both hold the knife.

2. Together, cut the BOTTOM tier, make 2 cuts like you're cutting a little piece of pie.

3. Put the knife down and pick up the spatula type thingy.

4. Together, slide the spatula under your cut piece of cake and move it to a small plate.

5. One of you, cut the piece of cake in two, with your spatula.

6. Now, feed each other (it doesn't matter who get the cake placed in their mouth 1st -- or even if its at the same time).

If you mess up, its ok. Just have fun. Enjoy your cake and we'll be on the sidelines, capturing the merriment.

I hope this was helpful.

Matt + Caroline

Photographing Matt and Caroline's wedding at the River Oaks Golf Club in Edmond, OK was a total thrill. These two are so darling and their first look is one of our all time favs.  Congrats you two!

Their priceless first look.

Their priceless first look.

Chris + Rebecca

The last wedding of 2016 was held at the Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills. My high school prom was held in the very room Chris and Rebecca tied the knot so it was rather nostalgic for me.  You can just tell these two will have a wonderful life together; they are perfect for one another. So happy they chose us to capture their special night!

Kat + Aaron

There's only 1 thing better than photographing a wedding at the Glass Chapel... that is, photographing another one there. We love this venue; the natural light, the glass, the setting, its so fairytale. So now its Kat and Aaron's turn. They had a beautiful ceremony and fun reception. Here's a few of our many many fav. Best Wishes to these two sweethearts.

Glass Chapel Wedding

Beau has "flipped" for Grace. And we can't blame him. Grace is so elegant and lovely; what an honor it was for us to photograph her wedding day. They chose the Glass Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK (historically Tarp Chapel), to tie the knot. This venue is a favorite among Tulsa brides and grooms. Its a joy to photograph weddings there. We know Beau and Grace will have a beautiful life together. Congrats!

Philbrook Bride

We had the best time with Ryan, photographing her Bridal Portraits at Philbrook Museum.  Isn't she gorgeous?!

Tulsa Garden Center

It was a peacock themed gala at the Tulsa Garden Center recently for Saji and Candice's wedding.  We couldn't be happier for these two - thanks for choosing us!

Tatanka Ranch

It took us a little while to get there; it was off the beaten path from the turnpike. But oh was it ever worth the trip!  If you've never been to Tatanka Ranch, put it on your bucket list... now!  This place is so wonderful and soooo Oklahoma-ish!  Cody and Ashley tied the knot as this incredible Oklahoma Wedding Venue.  They had a blast and Pistol Pete even stopped by to wish the couple well. What a great day!

Glass Chapel

As a Tulsa wedding photographer, its fun to re-visit the same wedding venues through the years but with new couples. I love to see the way each couple decorates venues, putting their own style on each.  The Glass Chapel was all a glow with gorgeous candles and lights, all endowed with Katy's signature style. The alter had a wow factor to say the least. Absolutely gorgeous!  Honored to have been asked to capture this most special day for such dear people!

Good Morning from Camp Loughridge

Jamie and Julius had a splendidly unique morning wedding out at Camp Loughridge. After morning vows, in which they planted a tree in lieu of a unity candle (with dirt from either of their parent's property), the guests enjoyed waffles.  And then... a waffle wedding cake!! These two were so much fun and we thoroughly enjoyed capturing their special day!
